Where are we? Click here for map

We are located in Old Orchard Street in the centre of Bath. Parking is available in the nearby Manvers Street Pay & Display car cark 2 minutes away. Bath Spa railway station is about 3 minutes on foot the new temporary bus station 5 minutes on foot. Car passengers can be dropped at the door as Old Orchard Street is a cul-de-sac and we have a ramp for wheelchairs. The toilet is not yet suitable for wheelchair access but work is due to start soon. Whilst reconstruction of Bath’s Southgate area takes place in the next two years access to the town centre will be easiest via North Parade.

What are we?

We are affiliated to Spiritualist National Union and Spiritualism is a rational religion based on the proven knowledge that man's spirit survives physical death. This has led to a philosophical and scientific approach new to traditional religious faith.

Unlike most other major religions, Spiritualism does not tie its adherents to a creed or dogma. Rather, the philosophy of Spiritualism is founded upon Seven Principles which were developed and derived through the mediumship of one of Spiritualism’s greatest pioneers, Emma Hardinge Britten, inspired in 1871 by the communicating spirit of Robert Owen (the founder, when alive in the physical body, of the Co-operative movement) and the principles act as guidelines for the development of a personal philosophy of how to live one’s life. The history of Bath First may be viewed here.
